Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone is working on documentation for the Smith version of the CFML. I know that BlueDragon doesn't follow the CFML that Adobe uses to the letter, and if the Smith Project includes it's own tags or functions (ie. SmithList.ListSort and SmithList.ListTrim) then they should be documented in a "SmithCFML Reference Guide" or something like that. I love CFM, and I would absolutely help out in any way. I think it's important that users of the Smith CFM engine are able to take full advantage of new or added functions and tags. Unfortunately CFML doesn't have an organization behind it (at least that I know of) that "Standardizes" the language and decides which tags/functions get implemented and which ones don't. This being the case, there isn't really a "one guide fits all" reference. Just a thought.

Thanks,

Tanner

Hi Tanner,

this is a great idea!

We are aware that there's no need to duplicate the live CFMX docs as our intention is to support the same functionality. But the "SmithCFML Reference Guide" which documents Smith specifics would surely come in handy!

If you're willing to help us out, you could write a starting draft of this document and mail it to us (contact@smithproject.org). We will put it online at smithproject.org, in Documentation section.

Everyone is welcome to contribute to this document!

Best regards,
orcus

Orcus,

Thanks for the input. I've been real busy lately, so I must apologize for not getting back to you right away. However, I have been contacted by a few interested parties that would like to help with this, so we should have something to post fairly soon.

Thanks,

Tanner
